Krafton has officially rolled out the BGMI 4.0 update for Android users, calling it “Spooky Soiree.” Launched on September 11, 2025, the update immerses players in ghostly themes, fresh gameplay tools, and seasonal extras that aim to shake up the usual battle royale routine.
What’s New: Haunting Features & Game Modes
- Spooky Soiree Mode: A haunted mansion setting forms the core of this update. Flickering lights, spectral decor, and eerie architecture set the tone as you explore and battle through this new themed environment.
- Ghostie Companion: Players get a spectral ally that follows through matches. Ghostie comes loaded with active abilities like a floating balloon (for brief aerial mobility) and a Guardian Shield (for defensive stands), plus passive perks like armor repair, healing, and speed boosts.
- Prankster Ghost Mechanic: Even after elimination, you can keep contributing. This mode lets you transform into a ghost with abilities to disrupt opponents—bombs, scans, or shields are among the ghostly tools available.
- New Weapons & Reworked Maps: The Mortar has been introduced to the armory—additionally, pistol animations and reload mechanics have been upgraded for more realism. The Erangel map’s Lipovka area receives redesigns with new structures and cover spots.
How to Update: Android Users
- Android users can get the update through the Google Play Store by searching for Battlegrounds Mobile India and tapping “Update.”
- Since this is a large update, installing over Wi-Fi is recommended. Be sure you have enough storage free to download both the initial update and extra in-game resources.
- For those preferring the APK, it becomes available through the official BGMI website after the roll-out completes.

While Android users have access now, iOS rollouts are expected shortly. Players can look forward to special events, seasonal rewards, and limited-time modes tied to the Spooky theme.
