Ghaziabad/New Delhi — Two suspects accused in the firing at Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s Bareilly residence were killed following a police encounter in Tronica City, Ghaziabad on Wednesday. Authorities identified the men as Ravindra alias Kallu, from Rohtak, and Arun, from Sonipat — both linked to the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang.

A joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), Delhi Police, and Haryana STF led to the confrontation. The suspects were allegedly tracked using the same motorcycle believed to have been used during the attack early on September 12 outside the Patani family home. In the ensuing chase, a shootout broke out, leaving both suspects critically wounded. They were taken to hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Officials recovered two pistols — a Glock and a Zigana — along with multiple cartridges from the site of the encounter. According to police, the accused were wanted in several criminal cases besides the Patani house firing. The exchange of gunfire occurred near Ghaziabad, marking the culmination of days of investigation involving surveillance, forensic analysis, and intelligence coordination across state units.

The incident stems from a night when two attackers on a motorbike reportedly fired 10-15 rounds outside the home of Jagdish Singh Patani, a retired police officer and father of actress Disha Patani. The attack allegedly followed criticisms of spiritual figures by Patani’s sister, Khushboo, prompting threats and claims of responsibility from Goldy Brar’s associates via social media.

Following the firing, authorities registered an FIR, bolstered security around the Patani residence, and carried out video surveillance and data analysis. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called Jagdish Patani to assure him of the state’s support and ordered swift action.

The deaths of Ravindra and Arun bring a significant development in the case, though investigations continue. Law enforcement agencies are now working to identify other accomplices and ascertain the full chain of command behind the attack. Officials stress that this encounter will not hinder judicial process; forensic evidence and eyewitness testimony gathered thus far remain key to building the case in court.

The incident has drawn widespread public attention, raising issues of safety for public figures and accountability in criminal networks. Analysts say it also underscores the challenges of using interstate coordination and intelligence to handle gang-linked crimes. With the alleged shooters no longer alive, authorities are calling on citizens to refrain from speculation and await official reports once the full investigation concludes.
