Hyundai India has charted an aggressive strategy for the Indian market through fiscal 2030, revealing a slew of launches and new-segment ambitions at its recent investor meet. The highlights range from the imminent launch of the next-gen Hyundai Venue to the debut of its luxury marque Genesis and the entry of eight hybrid models in India.

26 New Models by FY 2030

Hyundai India plans to introduce 26 new models across the FY 2025-26 through FY 2029-30 horizon. This total includes completely new nameplates, major generational upgrades, facelifts and variants with electrification or performance trims. The breakdown shows:

  • FY 25-26: 4 models
  • FY 27-28: 8 models
  • FY 29-30: 14 models
A notable part of this expansion is entry into fresh segments, including a full-sized MPV and an off-roader, designed to widen Hyundai’s footprint beyond its current strongholds.

8 Hybrid Models Coming

Recognising the middle ground between ICE and fully electric vehicles, Hyundai has committed to launching eight hybrid models in India by FY 2030. These hybrids will span from compact to premium segments, offering consumers more choices as the industry transitions.

A Dedicated, “Accessible” EV for India

Hyundai admits it lags in EV market share in India and plans to make a push with a locally-tailored EV. The vehicle will feature two battery pack options (standard and long range), advanced infotainment, and Level-2 ADAS. Hyundai expects this EV to help it better contend in the mass-market electric segment.

Genesis Luxury Brand Entry

Marking a major strategic move, Hyundai India confirmed that its luxury brand Genesis will enter the Indian market in 2027. The first model is expected to be the Genesis GV80, and Hyundai indicated that local production (via CKD) is on the cards—suggesting competitive pricing relative to its import rivals.

Infrastructure & Production Ramp-up

To support this growth trajectory, Hyundai’s third production facility at Talegaon has commenced operations. The plant brings India’s cumulative production capacity for Hyundai to 1.1 million units by 2028, making it the largest production base among its global facilities.

Immediate Launch: Venue 2025

The next-generation Venue is set for launch on 4 November 2025. The teaser reveals dual 12.3-inch screens, advanced infotainment, and Level-2 ADAS as key features. This model underscores Hyundai’s push into enriched technology even in its volume segments.

This roadmap signals Hyundai India’s ambition to cover all propulsion types—ICE, CNG, hybrid, EV—and broaden its model range significantly. The key will be execution: pricing, localisation, charging & service ecosystem, and consumer uptake will determine whether Hyundai can capitalise on this strategy in a fiercely competitive Indian auto market.
