Taipei, September 22, 2025 — Apple’s iPhone 17 series, launched on September 19, has sparked a significant uptick in sales across Taiwan’s telecom and e-commerce sectors. Early indicators suggest a robust consumer response, with preorders surpassing those of the previous iPhone 16 series.

Taiwan Mobile anticipates a 20% to 30% increase in iPhone 17 sales, attributing this surge to consumers upgrading from older models. Similarly, Far EasTone’s largest Apple reseller, Data Express, reports heightened upgrade intent among customers. Momo, a major e-commerce platform, has also observed a rise in sales following the iPhone 17’s launch.

The iPhone 17 series, which includes the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the slimmer iPhone Air, has been well-received despite limited AI innovations. The strategic decision to upgrade the iPhone 17 without increasing its price has contributed to its appeal. This move aligns with Apple’s broader marketing strategy to maintain competitiveness in the Taiwanese market.

The surge in demand is expected to positively impact Taiwan’s upstream suppliers, including companies specializing in PCBs, passive components, camera modules, displays, and memory. These suppliers are poised to benefit from the increased production and sales associated with the iPhone 17 series.

As the iPhone 17 continues to gain traction, it underscores Apple’s strategic focus on enhancing product offerings while maintaining price stability, a move that resonates well with Taiwanese consumers.
